- 1958 : byelaws made by GCC with respect to the markets in the Town of Loughrea;
- 1960/11: includes a table relating to Fairs Rights, the possible acquisition of fairs, detailing the location where Fairs are held (such as at Gort, Clifden, Woodford, Headford, Eyrecourt, Dunmore, Mountbellew, Ballygar, and Moylough), the price required (for GCC to purchase right), the size of Fair Green, number / type of Fairs (e.g. sheep or pig etc), and also other property in addition to Fair Green (e.g. weighbridge);
- 1977-79: Correspondence relating to the weigh Bridge at Gort & An Taisce's proposal to restore the building and erect a protection barrier around the property.
- 1985/07/26: Letter from Co. Secretary to B Moloney, Dept of Geography, UCG, indicating 'the only places in the County (as distinct from the corporation area) in which Galway County Council owns the fair rights are Abbeyknockmoy, Athenry, Loughrea and Portumna. Bye-laws have been made by the Council with respect to the markets in these towns'.
