The Local Authorities concerned had examined the legal position carefully and had been advised that they had a right of action against the Co-operative Marts in Athenry, Tuam and Ballinasloe for holding markets without paying any tolls in repsect of animals sold at such markets. The revenue derived by the Local Authorities from the statutory markets which they operated had dropped consequent of the opening of the Marts...', also includes handwritten notes with details of tolls and customs collected by TCC between 1955-1963.
