-Correspondence primarily between the County Secretary and the County Surveyor / Engineer (G. Lee), and others. Includes list of piers & harbours detailing their map reference number, and brief description (such as, ‘masonry’, and ‘cut stone’), and further list detailing type (such as pier, quay, slip road) and date when taken over by Galway County Council, the accuracy of which is questioned in a letter from the Co. Secretary to the Co. Engineer (1945-11-15).
- Letter indicating ‘There would appear to be five Harbour Masters in the County appointed for the following piers - Roundstone, Kilronan, Clifden, Cleggan and Innishboffin, (sic) and these Harbour Masters collect whatever dues are available…’ (1946-09-09).
- Detailed report on each marine work, providing information under headings such as location, facilities, population, fishermen, Boats, value of landing, disabilities, general.
- Handwritten chart detailing piers and harbours in South Connemara detailing description, details of repairs if necessary, estimated cost and remarks (1945).
-Various OS maps, with marine works in various areas marked in, also includes,
oDrawings of ‘proposed improvement of landing facility’ at Inishark Island, with OPW Chief Engineer’s signature (1936-04-16 and 1937-06-23). Scale 20 feet to 1”;
o Drawing of Brandy Harbour, Lettermore Island with handwritten note on estimated cost for the proposal new pier (1936-08-20); and
o Colour drawing of elevations at Bunowen Pier, Scale 12ft to 1” (1945).
