Includes Various entries relating to the impending visit to Galway of the President of the United States of America, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, on 29th June 1963, such as
·25 May 1963: the Council approved a presentation of welcome to the President and to presenting him with banqueting cloth, two suit lengths, and two dolls (p166).
·8 June 1963: the Secretary advised the Council that he would advise them ‘as soon as any definite information is available in regard to the arrangements’ for the visit (p172).
·15 June 1963:Galway County Council approved the loan of materials to Galway Corporation required for the platform to be erected in Eyre Square for the reception for the President’s visit (p179).
