Galway Homecoming 2024

Galway County Council, Galway GAA and the Emergency Services will host a Homecoming for the Galway Football Team and Management at Tuam Stadium. It will begin from 2.00pm on Monday, 29th July 2024, at Tuam Stadium with music by Sean Slattery & the Connections. The team is due to arrive at 3.30pm when the players and the management team will be introduced to the crowd.

This is not a ticketed event.
Public parking arrangements / traffic restrictions
Road Closures will be in place on all approaches to the stadium and patrons are asked to park in Galway County Council carparks and proceed on foot. Free Parking will be available at County Council Car Parks and the Tuam Cathedral Carpark.
Parking Facilities in Tuam on the 29th July 2024
- Tuam Stadium: There will be no parking available at or in the vicinity of Tuam Stadium.
- Galway County Council’s Public Carparks: Free Parking will be available in Council Public Carparks with charges being waived at:
- Bishop Street
- Vicar Street
- Palace Grounds where limited parking is available
- Cathedral on Bishop Street: Pay and Display parking will be waived prior to and during the homecoming event.
Disability parking is available at all carparks and on street
Illegal Parking: Any vehicles parked illegally on these streets which impedes vehicular access and traffic flow will be subject to traffic fines on 29th July 2024.
Please ensure to follow the parking rules to avoid any inconvenience.
Additional Information:
- The event is family-friendly and alcohol-free.
- All bags and backpacks will be checked on entry. Bottles or any items of concern will be confiscated.
- No fireworks, flares, smoke powder, smoke bombs or other pyrotechnics are allowed. Any person found in possession or using any of the above will be removed from the ground and referred to An Garda Siochana.
- This is an outdoor event. Please dress appropriately for the weather.
- No electronically, mechanically, or manually operated sound-emitting devices such as megaphones or speakers are allowed.
- Smoking or vaping is not permitted within the stadium.
Patrons are requested to enjoy the event responsibly and adhere to the guidelines for everyone’s safety and enjoyment.
Conditions:
Bags will be searched on entry to the stadium and to avoid lengthy queues we strongly advise that you do not bring a bag. Any items that may be deemed a hazard in the stadium will not be permitted into the grounds. Photographs and video will be taken at the event, which may be used in Council / Galway GAA / Gardaí publicity, promotional reports, our websites and on social media. Members of the public attending the event are requested to comply with instructions or guidance provided by stewards, security and members of An Garda Síochána.
