ROLLING CALL FOR RETAINED FIRE FIGHTERS

ROLLING CALL – CAN YOU ANSWER THE CALL?

Galway Fire & Rescue Service are constantly seeking to recruit retained Fire Fighters (Part-Time).

Retained Fire Fighter’s provide emergency response cover from either their home or work base, which must be within five minutes or 1.5 miles off the Fire Station.

A Retained Fire Fighter is an ordinary person who has decided to give their life to serving their town and community.

Retained Fire Fighters make up about 70% of the Fire Service in Ireland, with Full-Time Fire Fighters in major Towns and Cities.

The work of a Retained Fire Fighter is so different to most jobs. One minute you are going about your normal day, then the pager bleeps and within a few minutes you find yourself in an emergency situation.
