[Partial] letter enclosing newspaper cutting (not included) regarding the Land Bills, advising he received recent queries if he would let Ballydugan house for £100 per annum, but replied that he ‘was not prepared to accept such a ridiculous rent, besides I thought it not unlikely that you and your wife too might be coming to live there, so that I would be glad to know your decision’ (p2), and asks him to also consider the future effects of the move, mentioning again that his Agent ‘stupidly failed to get rid of Dempsey’ (pp3-4) but was made a caretaker, and a grazer for 11 months, but Burke has ‘no intention renewing this’ though he may have to let him stay in the house (p4).
