Digital copy of sepia photograph depicting 6 roads workers with picks, sledge hammers and shovels, and a Ganger (Supervisor) on the left-hand side. They are grouped in a semi-circle, posing for the camera, working on a gravel road, with hedgerows, in full bloom, on either side. The man on the right is sitting on the road breaking stones that likely did not pass through an iron ring that was used as a gauge. The clean-shaven workmen are wearing caps or hats, with their shirt sleeves rolled up, some are wearing braces. The ganger is wearing a waist coat. Photograph is believed to have been taken in Ballygar area.
