French became the purchaser of the lands from Laurence in trust for Mark Lynch as by a declaration of trust dated July 1796. The first £3,000 was duly. Laurence died in October 1796, leaving Walter, his eldest son and heir, but then a minor. Laurence (deceased) had appointed Thomas Reddington of Kilcornan, county Galway, Denis Blake, and Catherine Laurence, his wife, executors of his will. Lynch paid to Catherine Laurence, who afterwards married Dominick Bodkin, Castletown, county Galway, the sum of £272.15.6, and paid £727.4.6 to Elizabeth Boyle a Judgement Creditor of Laurence’s, at the desire of Catherine, totaling £1,000 part and parcel of £6,000 together with all the interest which had accrued due on the sum of £3,000 making £4,000. Catherine since died, and Charles Blake (party hereto) obtained administration with the Will annexed to Laurence (deceased) of the goods and chattles un-administered by Catherine. Lynch paid interest of £2,000 part of £6,000 according it accrued and now agreed to pay Charles Blake the principal sum of £2,000 being the balance of purchase money of £6,000 for the lands and premises which Blake has agreed to release and discharge the lands.
This indenture witness that Laurence for and in consideration of Lynch having paid in like manner the £6,000 and in pursurance of the agreement of 23 July 1796 Laurence acknowledged that he granted, bargained, transferred, and released and made over to Lynch all that and those the towns and lands of Broddellagh and Carnakelly.
