Under Section 14 of the Local Government Rates & Other Matters Act 2019 (as amended):
From 1st January 2026 interest will be chargeable on unpaid rates. To avoid any unnecessary additional costs please ensure that commercial rates are paid in full and on time within the year, at the latest by 31st December 2025. Interest charges falling due on any unpaid rates balance at year end at 8% annualised rate.
