Traveller Accommodation Programme 2025-2029

In accordance with the Housing (Traveller Accommodation) Act 1998, the Traveller Accommodation Programme 2025-2029 was adopted by the members of Galway County Council at the October Plenary meeting on the 25^th of November 2024.

The adopted Traveller Accommodation Programme set out the programme of works that Galway County Council intends to implement to meet the current and future accommodation needs of Traveller families within the County of Galway over the course of the programme from January 2025- December 2029.

The Traveller Accommodation Unit will continue to work closely with all relevant stakeholders including the Local Traveller Accommodation Consultative Committee, local and national Traveller representative organisations, the Traveller Accommodation Unit in the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage to maximise the provision of new and improved accommodation for Travellers in the County of Galway.
