Public Service Vehicles are vehicles that carry passengers for a fee. These vehicles qualify for a reduced rate in tax – check the current Motor Tax rates on www.motortax.ie

To tax a small Public Service Vehicle (SPSV - vehicles capable of carrying a maximum of eight passengers such as taxis or hackneys), you will need:

1. Renewal Form RF100B, or RF111A (English) if there is arrears or a non-use period
2. Evidence of Insurance
3. A valid Hackney, Limousine or Taxi licence issued by the Commission for Taxi Regulation (a current NCT is a requirement for issue of the licence by the Commission)
4. Appropriate fee

To tax a large Public Service Vehicle (LPSV - vehicles capable of carrying 9 or more passengers such as buses), you will need:

1. Renewal Form RF100B or RF111A (English) if there is arrears or a non-use period
2. Evidence of Insurance
3. Current Certificate of Roadworthiness
4. PSV licence
5. In the case of Youth / Community bus, a RF8C
6. In the case of a school bus, an Article 60 Licence must be submitted
7. Appropriate fee
