Galway County Council (GCC) has prepared a draft Wind Energy Strategy (WES) for County Galway. The strategy provides strategic direction to encourage renewable energy and to guide the siting and design of wind energy developments in appropriate locations within the County. The preparation of the WES has been informed by local, regional, national, EU and international agreements, policy and legislation in relation to climate change, energy security and renewable energy.
