Tuam Local Area Plan 2018-2024* (altered following the Ministerial Direction of 31^st January 2019)

The Tuam Local Area Plan 2018-2024 was adopted on 22nd October 2018 in accordance with Section 20 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended). This Plan is effective from 19th November 2018.

Notice of Decision to issue a Ministerial Direction in relation to the Tuam Local Area Plan 2018-2024 - Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended)

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 31 of Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) that on 31st January 2019 2019, Minister of State at the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government with special responsibility for Housing and Urban Development, issued a Direction pursuant to Section 31 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended), in relation to the Tuam Local Area Plan 2018-2024.

Tuam Local Area Plan 2011 - 2017 (Review)

The Tuam LAP 2011-2017 expires in January 2018, a review of the LAP is now being carried out. This issue paper has been prepared to get you thinking about the type of land-use issues that might be addressed in the new Tuam LAP, and to encourage you to make a submission on planning issues you think are important. It also provides an important opportunity for the residents of Tuam and its environs to get involved in the plan preparation process.

Tuam Issues Paper

The Tuam Local Area Plan (LAP) is the local statutory framework for the future sustainable growth and development of Tuam Town and environs. The role of the LAP is to set out a vision and growth strategy for the Tuam Hub, to identify important features and
landmarks that should be protected, to identify areas and zones that are suitable for particular types of development, to set out policies and objectives that will guide the manner in which development is carried out and to clarify proposals including planned projects within the LAP boundary and its environs.
