Galway County Council has responsibility for the development and maintenance of many amenity and recreation facilities which enhance County Galway as a place to live and visit.   

Galway County Council supports and works with many community groups and other public bodies, to provide a variety of sporting and leisure facilities in local communities and lakeside, rural, coastal, forest and urban walking and cycling amenities throughout the County.   

This section provides information on Playgrounds, Public Parks, Swimming Pools, Lifeguard Services, Battle of Aughrim Visitor Centre and links to information on beaches and other amenity facilities.  New links are added regularly.
We invite you to enjoy our amenity facilities.  Please be considerate of our local environment, don’t litter and take nothing but, memories and photographs.
