The Environmental Protection Agency (Noise) Regulations 1994, enable any person to make a complaint to the District Court regarding noise pollution, ie. noise which gives reasonable cause for annoyance. Complaints may also be made by the Environmental Protection Agency or by the local authority.
Any person (including a Local Authority) may make an application to the District Court under the terms of the Noise Regulations 1994, to seek an Order to deal with the nuisance.
Explanatory leaflets and copies of notices to be served prior to making a complaint to the Court, can be obtained from the Environment Section.
