The Community Recognition Fund 2024 is funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development and aims to support the development of community infrastructure and facilities for the entire community in recognition of the contribution being made by communities in welcoming and hosting significant numbers of New Arrivals from Ukraine and other countries. Galway County Council has received an allocation of €1,303,230 under the 2024 Fund which will be targeted at areas with the highest number of New Arrivals over 3 application windows. Please note that the current eligible areas with high numbers of New Arrivals in-situ at this time are set out in the attached GCC Guidelines to the Fund. Additional areas may be taken into account as numbers and locations of New Arrivals changes over time.
The Expression of Interest Form requests basic details of project proposals from groups in the eligible areas, and closes for applications at 5pm on Friday 24th May 2024 – all applications to be submitted only to crf@galwaycoco.ie. Based on the Expression of Interest process, and further targeted consultations, we will finalise projects to form part of the submission to the Department of Rural and Community Development across the 2 application windows.
We will update this page with the details of local consultation processes as they are arranged:, i.e.,
- Webinar for Elected Members - 7th May 2024
- Webinar for PPN Members - 10th May 2024
- Local Consultation Sessions with Communities - Clifden, Oranmore, Maam, Letterfrack: week beginning 20th May 2024
