‘TOWNSCAPE // Let me show you Tuam’
Artists: Ruby Wallis & Gerald Glynn
Partnership project by: Galway County Council, SCP Tuam & Tuam Youth Services
Artist Ruby Wallis and engineer/programmer Gerald Glynn worked with the SCP to develop an interactive video installation with teenagers from Tuam in a project entitled ‘TOWNSCAPE // Let me show you Tuam’. This project was a pilot initiative between Galway County Council, the School Completion Programme Tuam with Tuam Youth Services and RAPID.
The participating teenagers got the opportunity to work together to investigate the potential of light and the moving image to experience architectural space through interaction with digital media. Weekly workshops with Ruby and Gerald encouraged the group to engage with the unique architectural landscape of Tuam and develop the process of drawing with light using the entire body and an impressive interactive screen.
Ruby Wallis is a practice-based PhD researcher with National College of Art & Design Dublin & GradCAM and currently lectures Photography History and Theory at Griffith College Dublin.
Gerald Glynn is an engineer, programmer and web designer who runs Gesture Media.
