Climate Action

The aim of the Galway County Climate Action Plan 2024- 2030 will be to deliver transformative climate mitigation and adaptation actions across the county and within our own organisation while ensuring a just transition. Background information on the Local Authority Climate Action Plans is available at the following link

Galway County Council has developed a Summary Report, which is available at the following link, to assist stakeholders and to provide a summary of the evidence that will be used to inform the development of the plan.

Heritage and Biodiversity

The aim of the Galway County Heritage and Biodiversity Plan 2024- 2030 will be to place heritage and biodiversity at the heart of public life in the county. This will be achieved through increasing awareness, participation, enjoyment, knowledge and understanding of our shared heritage to lead to its proper conservation, management and protection and safeguarding it for future generations.

Further information on Galway County Council's Heritage and Biodiversity plan is available here and here.
